Quick Summary
This episode is about Chiu Wai (Andrew Yuen) gaining brief limelight due to his performance as Gou Lei Tai (Loan Shark) or Thai Gor (Brother Loan Shark) in a short drama clip.
The Story
It all started with a word war between Chiu Wai, the boss, manager and producer of an artiste management company and Lung Lik Lin (Mandy Lam), the sponsor of a series of short drama clips. The main character of the series, Chung Tao (Adrien Yau) was stranded overseas due to severe snowstorms but Lung Lik Lin insisted that the filming of the series should not be affected although she did not mean to get compensation. Unable to come up with a consensus, Chiu Wai jokingly suggested that he took on the role as the male lead and somehow, the idea was taken seriously by Lung Lik Lin and his script writer girlfriend, Hung Sheung Sin (Joyce Tang) unexpectedly agreed to adjust the script to make it happen.
Surprisingly, the Chiu Wai's Thai Gor's character was a hit and he gained fame overnight for his trademark action of pinning of his debtee against the wall. His fans, who named themselves Sweet and Sour Noodles (Thai Fans) aka Tom Yam Noodles (as the name Tai Gor sounds like the country, Thailand, the country of origin of tomyam), even bought some snacks to treat the filming crews. He even got recognised when he was dating with his girlfriend at a shopping mall.
He bumped into a live-streamer who requested Chiu Wai to re-enact the trademark pinning action to which he happily complied with, with Hung Sheung Sin rolling her eyes in disbelief as she looked on.
Surprisingly, the Chiu Wai's Thai Gor's character was a hit and he gained fame overnight for his trademark action of pinning of his debtee against the wall.
However, his fame fizzled as quickly as it came as the drama fans shifted their focus to Chung Tao (Adrien Yau), much to the disappointment of Chiu Wai.
The story, as usual, ends with a positive note as Hung Sheung Sin pretended to borrow money from Chiu Wai, to which he happily played along and again, he re-enacted the trademark pinning action.
Favourite Scene
It is definitely the scene in the short drama clip where Chiu Wai, in his Thai Gor role, did the pinning action that wins me over.
